I have recently began to try to live my life more for the moment. There is a Bob Dylan song that finally made me stop and think about many of the things that had previously worried me. It reads something like "Sundown, yellow moon, I replay the past. I know every sceen by heart. They all went by so fast."

I would listen to that and just think; yeah I know exactly what he means.

But then one day I thought, wow what the heck am I doing. Why am I so often living in the past and spending so much time thinking about things that have passed in my life. Things like old friends, old dreams and lovers. Not long after that I heard a saying, it is of Hindu origin I believe. It says something like, "Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a dream. Today is all that you have."

I am happier now becasue I am less concerned with what happened yesterday. I spend much less time worrying about tomorrow and more time concentrating on today.

Can war ever be justified, whether or not you are attacking or defending? Should you always defend or counter attack? Peace is always cheaper and cleaner. It may not be what you want at first, but is what you want always what you should get? Pride is something that sometimes forces people to do what they know is not right. But so many people wear their pride like a medal or carry it around like a trophy because they want everyone to see it. What might things be like now, if Japan had never surrendered to the US? What might things be like now, if Japan had never attacked Pearl Harbor or invaded the mainland and the Pacific Islands?

I believe the majority of people searching the net for a recipe on making hydrogen sulfide are not doing it to find a a way to kill themselves. Look at how many people search for things like bomb making, etc... For most it is just a desire for the data. But there are are much simplier ways of doing it and most people know that. I wonder what all the excitement regarding this method is about, especially since it can be a danger to other people.

Should suicide be illegal for adults? Who are we to decide whether someone should kill themselves or not? I know people make wrong decisions based on information the rest of us don't understand or agree with, but is suicide something that is always unacceptable? Shouldn't someone who is guarantedd a life of misery and pain, as a result of a disease or injury for instance, not be allowed to end their suffeing?

For an extreme example, what if you are about to be taken prisioner by a group that you know will torture you in the most ghastly of ways. Shouldn't it be acceptable then? If you know you are on your way to face a much more gruesome death than simply taking your own life, shouldn't you be expected to?

Shane,

I understand where you're coming from but who are you to determine what someone does with their life? If it's not hydrogen sulfide, it'll be something else. Yes this method can harm others, but it sounds like most ppl using it are warning innocent bystanders. Personally, I would prefer to be found passed out than with my brain splattered everywhere from shooting myself.

Everyone dies, some sooner than others. You can't protect people from themselves forever...
