Quote of the Week - Are you a Watcher?

This weekend I had the privilege of seeing Barefoot in the Park, a play by Neil Simon, at the Diamond Head Theater in Honolulu. Here is a line spoken by the Corie Bratter character in the play to her husband:

image…There are watchers in this world, and there are doers. And the watchers sit around watching the doers do.

Corie is frustrated with her new husband after a night out on the town because she had a great time and her husband sat quietly in the corner ‘watching’.

I am definitely a doer. Which one are you?

I like to watch and do at the same time (probably why I often bite off more than I can chew).
I try to jump in and start doing. Then I watch the experienced people and do what they do.

There are probably some watchers reading this but I doubt they will comment ;)

You crack me up - I never thought about the fact that the watchers wouldn’t comment. Very insightful….

I like to study peoples reaction to things too so I guess I am a bit of both - definitely more of a doer though and not always good at it.

I’m a watcher - but then I’m an introvert. I learn more by watching than doing - figure out if I want to be involved, then when comfortable, I jump in and do. But then, being a nearly 40 year old Mum, I’m learning a LOT about baseball. :-)

Found you from Tom’s SJGiantsFans site — and, yes, I’ve been lurking. :-)
