Quote of the Week - On Travel

I just shipped my hubby off to Japan and now I am looking forward to joining him in a month. Over the last few weeks I have been pondering how to get the most out of the experience of living in Japan and I came across this quote from QuoteGrarden:

“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay home.” James Michener

This has always been my philosophy and I think that I will post this on my fridge in Japan. It will remind me to make the most of this awesome opportunity that has been given to me - even on the frustrating days!

    Philisophy for living in Japan

A quote that you can post on your fridge to make sure you make the most of your time in Japan and that you aren’t lumped in with the ugly ‘gaijin’.

Exactly. What’s the point of traveling if you just hole yourself up in your own comfort zone? Live life to the fullest!

Yes, it’s a great philosophy to put up somewhere like the fridge but re-writing this affirmation in a positive tone will have a much greater effect in you when you read it. e.g. Try all new foods at least once, embrace the religion, immerse yourself in the customs and accept every new person you meet………….
